Run under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the National Trust is a statutory body for the welfare of persons with autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and multiple disabilities. National Trust has action centers in various parts of the country. It offers a range of relief and care services to help the disabled persons. The National Trust organizes numerous programs to make them self reliant. The trust gives care and protection for those who do not have anybody to look after. Support is provided to other organizations that deal with the disabled. Awareness programs and training of the caregivers are other major activities. In addition, the trust has established relief institutions for providing institutional care.
