The National Institute of Fashion Technology, set up in 1986, is one of the premier institutes of fashion design, management and technology in the country. By providing a common platform for fashion education, research and training, the institute aims to integrate and update design, management and technology in fashion education. the center facilitates research, training and consultancy in fashion education.
Undergraduate courses in Fashion and Apparel, and Fashion and Textiles are offered here. Postgraduate courses in Management and Technology are also offered. Other courses include Diploma in Fashion Designing, Certificate in Production Technology, Diploma in Accessory Design, Diploma in Garment Manufacturing Technology, Diploma in Knitwear Design and Technology and Diploma in Marketing and Merchandising.
In addition to academic programs, the institute promotes co-curricular activities. The institute fosters fashion shows and exhibition and marketing of student work.
