National Democratice Front of Bodoland was established in 1988. The original name of the Front was Bodo Security Force. The region north and north-west of the
Brahmaputra is the main area of operation of the NDFB. The
Manas National Park is used by the group as a safe hideout to cross the border and enter into Bhutan. NDFB receives its funding through the 'Bhutanese diplomatic bag.' The organization was formed with a view to carve out an independent Bodoland in the region north of river Brahmaputra.
