Narkel Kishmish diye Cholar Dal is a variety of the Bengali lentil soup. This soup dish has seedless raisins and fried coconut pieces added to the cooked Bengal gram along with turmeric powder, spices, salt, sugar, ginger paste and cumin paste. Green chilies, sauted cumin seeds, bay leaves and dry chilies are added before serving. The fried coconut can be used for garnishing.
