Naranthal is located 4 km from Baramulla. Major point of attraction here is an ancient temple, located at a short distance from the village, on the old road to Muzaffarabad.
The temple is thought to have stood in a tank though no trace of the tank is visible today. Only the super structure of the shrine, which is made with plain blocks of slate, is above the ground. There is an arched entrance on the eastern side. It has no ceiling.
The Naranthal temple, which is more or less in a dilapidated state, is believed to belong to the late medieval era.
