Situated in the heart of
Srinagar, Naqshband Shrine is a famous shrine in
Srinagar District,
Jammu and Kashmir. It is also known as Khanqah-e-Naqshbad. It is the sacred place where the Moi-e-Muqaddas (the sacred hair) of the Prophet Mohammed was kept at first. Later it was transferred to the Hazratbal Mosque. Built during the time of
Shah Jahan, this mosque is known for its khatamband ceilings.
By road, the shrine can be approached from Srinagar.
