Nanda Ghat




Nanda Ghat, popularly known as Baigram, is a sacred place located in Mathura District. It lies on the banks of Yamuna River and is about 11 km north of Vrindavan.

The place is associated with Lord Krishna and Nanda. A small temple is located here with a yellow-color idol of Nanda Maharaja. Folklore has it that Nanda Ghat is the place where Lord Varuna abducted Nanda for bathing in Yamuna. The place also houses an ancient cave which belonged to a great saint named Jiva Gosvami.
