Nalussery is a village located in
Palakkad District. The place is a pilgrim center with many temples including the four temples of Nalussery Devaswom which are traditionally known as Keezhedams.
Kunthipuzha River flows through the village.
The geographical variety and bio-diversity of Kerala, with stretches of backwaters lined with swaying coconut palms, rubber estates on one side and evergreen forests of the Western Ghats on the other side, makes it a real paradise to the travelers.
Nalussery Bhagavathy Temple is the prime attraction here. It is a very ancient temple, about 2000 years old. The main ceremonies celebrated in Nalussery are Poorolsavam and Edava Thalappoli. Kalasam Choriyal is another ritual where the Thandan goes to temple and dedicates alcohol (liquor) to please the Gods.
By road, Nalussery can be accessed from Ponnumkode (8 km), which is on the Kozhikode - Palakkad National Highway (NH 213). The nearest railheads are Palakkad Junction Railway Station (28 km) and the Ottapalam Station (30 km). C A Coimbatore Airport is the closest airport (80 km).
