Nalligudda Reservoir is one of the important lakes listed in Karnataka Fisheries Department records. It is situated in
Bangalore District, about 40 km away from the city. The reservoir has an area of over 1 sq km and is abundant in nitrate and phosphate. There is a rapid photosynthetic activity on the surface with high dissolved oxygen rate and a matching decomposition process at the bottom. All these natural features could be used beneficially for aquaculture.
