Nalhiapur is a minor town in Basti District situated on National Highway 28. It is 9 km from Haraiya and 16 km from Dubaulia. About 25 km north-west of Nalhiapur lies Ayodhya, the most sacred place of pilgrimage on the banks of Sarayu.
