Nakula, one of the
Pandavas in the
Mahabharata, was the twin of
Sahadeva. He was born to
Madri from the Ashwini deities. By nature Nakula was wise. Learning the art of training and managing horses from his guru,
Drona, he mastered horses in the Virata kingdom. Nakula’s wife was Karenumati, princess of Chedi and son, Niramitra.
