Nahorani, renowned for its tea plantations, is in the
Sonitpur District of
Assam. The name of the place literally means ‘a plantation of Nahor trees’, where ‘Nahor’ is a hardwood tree called Masua ferrea and ‘ani’ means plantation in
Assamese. Nahorani is located close to
Rangapara, and it is bounded by Misamari in the west,
Bhalukpung in the north, Balipara and Charduar in the east and Bansbera and Bindukuri in the south.
The nearest airport is Tezpur Airport. Rangapara North Railway Station serves this region.
