Nahauli is a beautiful fair held on the Baisakhi day in memory of the
Rishi Lomash in
Himachal Pradesh. It takes place on the banks of the Rivalsar Lake, and falls on the first day of the monsoon month of Ashadh.
The villagers who come to the fair take a dip in the lake, as it is considered as holy as the Ganges. The main feature of this fair is the swimming competition. As they return home from the fair, the villagers take with them the roots and leaves of the medicinal herb called Barain.
