Nagmandir of Berinag

Situated at about one km uphill to the south of Berinag is the famous Nagmandir dedicated to Lord Vishnu and the Lord of the Serpents. According to a legend, Kalianag - after being conquered by Lord Krishna - fled from Yamuna to the Himalayas and hid somewhere in this region. It is believed that this temple was built in the 14th century by the Pants from Maharashtra.
