Nagavalli River is a 220 km long river originating from
Orissa. In its lower reaches, this river is known as ‘Lungutla’. Nagavalli flows through
Hatipathar where it zigzags into a deep cut valley leaving huge boulders precariously perched on rocky beds. From there, the Nagavalli traverses all its way in the state of
Andhra Pradesh for about 115 km. During its course, Nagavalli flows through the districts of
Vizianagaram and
Srikakulam and finally drenches into the
Bay of Bengal near Mofaz Bandar. Its chief tributary, the Swarnamukhi also originates from Orissa.
