Nadhanathan Temple




Nadhanathan Temple is located at Tirunandhipuravinnagaram, Thanjavur District. The temple is dedicated to the Vahana of Shiva, Nandi. The deity in the temple is in sitting pose facing the west. There is a separate shrine for Goddess Sembagavalli Thaayaar. Legend has it that Nandi was freed from his curse at this place and hence the name of the place came to be known as Nandipuram. It is also said that King Nandivarman built this temple. One can reach the temple by town bus from Kumbakonam and getting down at Korukkai.
