Mundra Port, a multi-purpose all-weather port, is one of the deepest ports in India. It is situated at
Mundra in
Kutch District, on the western coast of India. Mundra Port is the nearest deep water Indian port for northern, western and central Indian states. It is the closest Indian port to the international navigation route leading to America, Middle East European, African and Scandinavian countries.
The port has the capacity to handle dry and liquid cargo. Container terminal is provided with 1100 m of quay line for direct berthing of vessels. Some of its main features are mechanized cargo handling facilities, international class container terminal, comprehensive backup area with all infrastructural facilities, night time navigation, and liquid and dry cargo storage in port backup area.
