Mulavukad is a picturesque island cum village located in the
Kochi backwaters. This is a tourist destination spread over an area of 20 sq km.
Bolghatty Island lies at the southern end of this village. Mulavukad is a calm and quiet place, ideal for nature lovers.
The famous
Periyar River flows in the eastern side of Mulavukad. St John's Church, a Mission Station of the Immanuel Church, is located here. The church is accessible only by ferry. Sree Kereleshwaram Temple is another attraction. Boating facilities are available for tourists.
