Mukthyala Temple is dedicated to
Lord Shiva and the temple dates back to 11th century.
It is believed that the main deity was laid by Bali Chakravarthi (Mahabali) in Krita Yuga. The main Shivlinga remains under water for months.
The temple is located at Mukthyala or Mukteswaram in Krishna District. Mukthyala is about 20 km from Jaggayyapeta.
