Muktabodha Indological Research Institute was founded in 1997 by Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, the spiritual head of the path of Siddha Yoga Meditation. It aims at the study, preservation and propagation of the philosophical and religious traditions of India.
The institute provides training for young scholars through various educational programs. The center is also engaged in the translation and publishing of important Sanskrit texts, especially those of the Shaiva and Shakta tantric traditions. Muktabodha Indological Research Institute is also a resource center for rare manuscripts and texts and it owns an on-line digital library. The institute starts and supports vedashalas (traditional schools of vedic studies.)
