Mudhol




Mudhol, 50 km away from Bagalkot, was the capital of the former princely state of the Ghorpades and the birth place of great Kannada poet Rama Mudhol. Old name was Muduyolal which means ‘Lovely Town’. The famous holy spots are the dargah of Saifi Saheb positioned on a lofty site, an old underground Shiva temple, and the Shwetamabar Jain temple. It is famous for its grinding stones and basil stands.
