Mubarak Mahal, also known as Welcome Palace, is one of the important palaces in the City Palace Complex, situated in the heart of the Pink City,
Jaipur. It was built by Maharaja Madho Singh and the architecture of the temple is a combination of traditional Rajasthan and
Mughal art. The verandahs and intricate scalloped arches between the thin pillars have beautifully carved screens adorned with delicate jewels. There is a beautifully carved marble gate with heavy brass doors on either side. The meeting place of the officials,
Diwan-E-Khas, is just beyond the marble gate. It also has a special place where the
maharaja used to meet with the public, Diwan-E-Aam, which is beautifully decorated and has manuscripts written in Persian and Sanskrit. The palace today houses a museum which has a good collection of royal costumes.
