Mosque of Nawab Chanda Sahib




Built in 1750, Mosque of Nawab Chanda Sahib is an important pilgrim center in Vellore District. The mosque is constructed with bricks and lime stones. The entrance is on the northern side and the sides of the mosque are decorated with arches. Pillars are constructed in two lines and each line has four sub pillars and these sub pillars are decorated with floral designs. A large prayer hall or courtyard is on the western side for performing namaz (prayer). The right hand side of Mehrab lays a platform for the Imam to perform the worship. A big dome with minar is in the center of the mosque.

The nearby major railhead is Katpadi, 6 km away from Vellore.
