Mosque of Madin Sahib

Mosque of Madin Sahib lies at Zadibal in Srinagar District, Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the most important Muslim buildings of the pre- Mughal period. This ancient mosque was consecrated in 1483, during the reign of Sultan Zain-ul-Abidin. The architectural style belongs to the early Islamic period. The plinth of a medieval temple was used for the construction of the base of this mosque.

The mosque remains a rare structure that still supports the old 'burz pash,' literally 'birch roof'. One can enter the mosque through the eastern wall. The wooden doorway is flanked by two stone columns. The carvings done on the wooden doorway are worth seeing. The tomb of Madin Sahib is nearby.
