Mopungchukit

Mopungchukit is one of the oldest Ao villages in Mokokchung District of Nagaland. The village is shrouded in myths and legends. It is famous for the romantic story of Ediben and Jina, the Romeo and Juliet of the Ao Naga tribes. The tower, commemorating this story, is a main attraction. The village also has a lake with boating facility and guesthouse. Time-Pillar, village museum, morungs and monuments are worth visiting.

The permanent Mission Centre of Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdan (ABAM) at Impur is attempting to revive the ancient Ao culture.

Mopungchukit is about 15 km form Mokokchung. The nearest railway station is at Amguri.
