Mookkuthala Bhagavathi Temple is a legendary temple situated 10 km south east of
Ponnani in
Malappuram District. Dedicated to Goddess
Durga, it is one of the ancient Durga temples of
Kerala. The important feature is that the Mookkuthala stone, believed to be growing from below the idol every day, is considered sacred. Thousands of devotees visit here during the
Trikartika Festival celebrated in November-December.
The nearest airport and main railway station are at Kozhikode.
