Monte Music Festival is staged in the courtyard of the
Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount situated on a small hill near
Old Goa, 9 km east of
Panaji. It is held with the aim of uniting the different cultures together on one platform.
The festival is usually observed in November and lasts for four days. It is organized by the Fundacao Oriente and Cidade de Goa in association with the Kala Academy.
Monte Music Festival has also been started with the idea of bringing the Western and Indian classical music together. The evenings of the festival are made alive with various cultural programs performed by famous artists from all over India.
