Mokha Dance




Mokha Dance is a Mask Dance practiced by the rural people representing various ethnic groups. The dance is widely practiced by the people of South Dinajpur District.

Masks are made locally using locally available wood. The dancers wear masks of gods and goddesses such as Kali, Shiva, and also of some fictitious comic characters. Masks of animals such as animal such as monkey or tiger are also used. Male performers dance accompanying the rhythmic beat of drums.
