Moira Church is a renowned church located in the beautiful village of
Moira in the heart of
Bardez in
North Goa District. Built in 1636, this ancient church was renovated several times. With five altars, the church is noted for its architectural excellence. The main altar is dedicated to Our Lady of Immaculate Conception. Believed to be founded by the Franciscan fathers, Moira Church also enshrines Saint Sebastian, Bom Jesus, Our Lady of the Rosary and Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary.
The church compound houses the famous monument of Christ the King. The Annual Village Feast is celebrated every year on 8th December. This church is also noted for two big bells brought here in 1838. Church of Our Lady of Lourdes and the Pirazona Chapel are nearby attractions.
