Mogilicherla




Situated about 6 km from Warangal, Mogilicherla is an ancient village in Andhra Pradesh. This village is famous for temples built during the period of Kakatiya rulers. Main attraction is the Shri Venugopala Swamy Alayam which enshrines the idols of Venugopala Swamy and Lakshmi-Narasimha. The idols of this temple resemble the images at Kondiparti and are noted for their architectural excellence. Ekashila Temple, believed to have been built by a Kakatiya king, is another draw. This temple truly features the heritage and culture of the Kakatiya dynasty. Warangal Fort is easily accessible from here. The nearest railway station is Warangal Junction Railway Station.
