Mir Qamaruddin

Mir Qamaruddin (1671-1748), also known as Nizam-ul-Mulk, was a brave warrior who laid the foundations of the Asif Jahi dynasty in the Deccan. An able administrator, Mir Qamaruddin was loyal to Aurangazeb, the Mughal emperor. Mir Qamaruddin won the title Munsab at the age of 6 and another title, Chin Qalich Khan, at the age of 20.

Mir Qamaruddin’s loyalty to the Mughal Empire came to the forefront when the empire was invaded by Nadir Shah, a Persian ruler. Mir Qamaruddin negotiated a treaty with Nadir Shah and won his admiration. On witnessing the diplomatic skills of Mir Qamaruddin, Nadir Shah offered him the Mughal Empire but he refused it and thus once again showed his faithfulness to the empire.
