Church of Our Lady of Miracles, or Milagres Church as it is popularly known, is located at
Mangalore in
Dakshina Kannada District,
Karnataka. It was built in 1680 by Bishop Thomas de Castro, a Theatine priest of Salcette.
The church was once destroyed by the soldiers of Tipu Sultan. Some of the stones of the church were utilized by Tipu to erect the Idgah on Lighhouse Hill.
Milagres Church is regarded as one of the most artistic houses of prayer in the district. The church has a magnificent altar with a French painting of St Monica and her son St Augustine, a rare piece of art worth visiting.
