Mejak Sim'a

Mi Amua or Mejak Sim'a is a ritual ceremony performed by the Garo tribe in Meghalaya. This ceremony is performed to remove all crop diseases through prayers to the Lord. The boundaries of the fields are protected by placing half-burnt stems and branches. To remove the evil spirits and diseases from the fields, the house holders move around carrying baskets, and reciting rituals.
