Meral is a taluk headquarters town located about 15 km west of
Garhwa in
Jharkhand.
Gulgulpath (3819 ft), the second highest peak in Jharkhand, Saruat village (hiking trail) and the Parasdiha and Gursandhu falls are some tourist spots around.
Nearest major airport is at Ranchi. Meral Railway Station is on the Garhwa-Nagar Untari line of Eastern Railways.
