Mejia is a taluk headquarters town in Bankura District, located near the banks of Damodar River, West Bengal. It is situated about 30 km west of Durgapur and 170 km from Kolkata. The thermal power plant of Mejia provides sufficient power for the district.
Shantiniketan and Tarapith are some of the places of tourist interest.
