Mathura Teerth




Mathura Teerth is situated at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to the Jain god Bhagwan Mahavir.

According to legends, Goddess Kubera Devi was impressed with the prayer and devotion of two Jain saints Dharmaruchi and Dharmghosh. She created a pillar and a temple dedicated to the Jain god Suparshwanath. In due course, the pillar fell into ruin and a new temple was constructed atn this site. It is believed that the Jain gods Parshwanath Bhagwan and Mahavir Bhagwan have visited this temple. The temple is now managed by a trust named Shri Antim Kevali Shri 1008 Jambuswami Digambar Jain Siddha Kshetra.
