Marwar Festival




Marwar Festival is celebrated in Jodhpur, the former capital of Marwar Province, in memory of the heroes of Rajasthan. It is also known as Maand Festival and is held in the month of Ashwin (September-October).

The festival is the venue of various cultural programs. It is devoted to folk music and traditional dances of the Marwar region. The folk music brings out the romantic lifestyle of Rajasthani rulers. The artists bring forth the myths and legends of the area and sing songs in memory of the brave heroes.

The other major attractions of the festival are the camel tattoo show and polo. The festival gives an opportunity to witness the rich cultural heritage and history of Rajasthan.
