Marad is a small picturesque fishing village located on the shores of the
Arabian Sea in
Kozhikode District of
Kerala. This one-and-a-half km long and 500 m wide sandy strip is laced with lush green vegetation and numerous palms. The people mainly depend on agriculture and fishing for their livelihood. Hindus and Muslims consitute the majority of the population. Juma Masjid and a temple are the major landmarks of this place.
Calicut Airport is the nearest airport and Kozhikode Railway Station serves Marad.
