Mansagar Dam is situated on the eastern side of Jal Mahal, between
Amber and
Jaipur in the
Jaipur District of
Rajasthan. It offers a good vantage point for viewing the lake and the valley. The outflow of the water from the dam is used for irrigation purposes for over a thousand acres of land. Surrounded by hills, the place is the home for a variety of migratory and resident birds.
Mansagar Dam can be easily accessed as it is midway on the road from Jaipur to
Amber Fort. The nearest railhead is
Jaipur Junction Railway Station.
