Mankara

Mankara is located in Palakkad District of Kerala and it is around 20 km west of Palakkad town.

The place is famous as the birthplace of O V Vijayan - novelist, short story writer, cartoonist and journalist. C Sankaran Nair, a freedom fighter, also belongs to this place.

Pazhayannur and Alattur in the south, Mundur in the east, Karimpuzha and Kongad in the north, Ottapalam and Chelakkara in the west are among the places nearby.

Cochin International Airport, Calicut Airport and Coimbatore Airport are in equal proximity to the town. Mankara Railway Station is on the Palakkad-Shoranur line. Major railhead nearby is Palakkad Junction Railway Station.
