Manilal was the second of Mahatma Gandhi's four sons. He was born in
Porbandar (in Gujurat) on October 28, 1892. Later on, he moved with his father to South Africa. He was arrested several times during his struggle against the British rule in South Africa. Manilal participated in several major campaigns for India's independence. He spent 14 years of his life imprisoned in India and South Africa.
Manilal fought for principles and freedom. During the freedom struggle, the advice of his father, Mahatma Gandhi served as his ideals. Manilal Gandhi died in the year 1956.
