Manikanteswarar Temple




Manikanteswarar Temple is an ancient shrine situated at Kalahasti, in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh. The temple dates back to the period of Raja Raja Chola I (early 11th century). It was reconstructed in stone by Kulottunga III, in 1196. The temple enshrines Lord Shiva, known here as Manikkengauyudaiya Nayanar, as the presiding deity. There is also a Lord Vishnu shrine in the temple.

Sri Kalahasti Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
