Mangueshi is situated in
Ponda taluk of
North Goa District, about 23 km from
Panaji. It is a picturesque village surrounded by green hills and is famous for its 16th century Mangueshi Temple dedicated to
Shiva. Another most significant thing here is a small rock cut cave belonging to the 5th century, which is assumed to have been a
Shivalaya in early times. Within short distance from here lies another village known as
Mardol village, noted for Sri Mahalasa Temple. Mangueshi is well connected to Panaji by road. The nearest railheads are at Vasco-da-Gama and
Margao.
