Mangal Ghat is a traditional vase used during rituals and religious festivals in
West Bengal.
In Hindu religion, a water pot filled with water is symbolic of good omen. In case an image or idol of deity is not available for worship, the pot is said to supplement god. Therefore this vessel is called Mangal ghat, where ‘mangal’ means good omen and ‘ghat’ means vase.
This variety of vase is available in various shapes and sizes. They are generally colored.
