Manappullikkavu Bhagavathy Temple is located at Palakkad and dates back to 1200 years ago. The presiding deity of the temple is Bhagavati, an incarnation of Goddess Shakthi. The temple is different from other Bhagavati temples by way of rites and rituals.
The deity of Manappullikkavu temple is in silver covered form (face and bust) and glows like the full moon (refracting the burning incandescence of the oil-swollen lamps surrounding the sanctum). The daily ritual of the temple is performed by the Namboothiri (the Kerala Brahmins) according to tantric traditions. The Manappullikavu Vela during March is witnessed by thousands of people from far and near.
