Mamulia

Mamulia is a festival celebrated by unmarried girls in Panna District in Madhya Pradesh. They worship a legendary girl called Mamulia on this occasion.

An idol of Mamulia is made with a green branch of the lemon tree. The idol is decorated with a colourful skirt and wimple. Wild flowers are attached to its thorns. Dry fruits and sweets are hung on it. The idol is then immersed in a pond.
