Located around a kilometer from
Guruvayoor town in
Thrissur District, Mammiyoor Temple is the abode of
Lord Shiva. The history of the temple dates back well in time before the
Guruvayoor Temple, which is a 10 minute walk from the Mammiyoor. As the ritual goes, every devotee who goes to Guruvayoorappan Temple is supposed to go to Mammiyoor also.
Beyond being a pilgrim center, Mammiyoor is a place worth visiting by ordinary visitors. The nearest railhead, Guruvayoor Railway Station is a few minutes walk from the temple.
