Located in the Pallahara Sub-division of
Angul District in
Orissa, Malyagiri Reserve Forest Block is spread over an area of 115 sq km. The whole area is charming, with rising and falling hills interspersed with small plains and winding strips of valleys.
The area is rich in flora and the most predominant species is ‘sal’. The other species found here are gambhar, asan, sisoo, bija, dhaura, mahul, mendu, bandhan, dhoben, rawolfia, gymnema, satabari, chereita and karda.
The wildlife is diverse, and it ranges from cats to reptiles, ungulates and apes because of the appropriate habitat conditions. This is undoubtedly one of the most important tourist spots in the region.
