Mallikarjun Mansur, a distinguished vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana, was born on 31 December, 1910 in
Dharwad District, northern
Karnataka. He took lessons from Nilkantha Buwa, Manji Khan, and Burji Khan. Mallikarjun Mansur developed his unique style of rendering rare
ragas. He was recipient of several awards including Kalidas Samman and Padma Vibhushan. He died at the age of 82.
