Malay Island is situated 4 km east of
Boat Island, which is on the south-western end of
Tarmugli Island in the
Bay of Bengal.
This islet has a rounded summit, 68 m high, which rises at its northern end. There is a rocky ledge that extends 0.5 km from the southern part of the island.
Malay Island is ideal for snorkeling, diving and under water photography. It has a rich variety of coral and marine life. The island is accessible from Port Blair by ferries.
